A definitive symbol of brilliance and resilience, Dr. Shah Faesal is one of the most distinguished alumni of our institution. Born and raised in Sogam, Lolab, he completed his foundational schooling at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Sogam before pursuing his MBBS as a gold medalist from SKIMS, Srinagar. In 2010, he etched his name in history by securing All India Rank 1 (AIR 1) in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, becoming the first-ever Kashmiri to top the prestigious exam and inspiring an entire generation of civil service aspirants across the region. Over his illustrious administrative career, he has held several key leadership positions, including serving as the Director of School Education, Kashmir (DSEK). He also holds a Master's degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the Harvard Kennedy School as a Fulbright Fellow. We proudly dedicate this profile to his enduring legacy of academic and administrative excellence.

Former Director General, Local Fund Audit & Pensions, Government of Jammu & Kashmir Distinguished Civil Servant

​Aazad Ahmad Wani is one of the most distinguished civil servants originating from the Lolab Valley. Over a career spanning more than three decades in public administration and governance, he rose through the ranks of the Jammu & Kashmir civil services, ultimately reaching the apex Super Time Scale rank of Director General in the Finance Department. ​Before his transition into public administration, Mr. Wani began his professional journey in academia as a dedicated lecturer, shaping young minds and fostering academic excellence. His entry into the Jammu and Kashmir Accounts (Gazetted) Service / KAS cadre marked the beginning of an illustrious administrative career characterized by financial acumen, administrative integrity, and public service. ​Key Career Milestones ​Early Career in Education: Started as an academic lecturer, mentoring students and contributing significantly to higher education. ​Entry into Civil Services: Inducted into the J&K Accounts (Gazetted) Service / KAS framework. ​Senior Administrative Roles: Held crucial Special Scale administrative positions across key departments, including: ​Director Finance, Transport Department ​Director Finance, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura ​Director, Accounts & Treasuries, Kashmir ​Apex Leadership: Elevated to Super Time Scale (Level-14) and appointed as Director General, Local Fund Audit & Pensions, J&K in May 2020. ​Superannuation: Completed an unblemished and celebrated tenure of public service, retiring as one of the top-ranking bureaucratic leaders from North Kashmir.
