The Inception (1952)
Inaugurated on 15th October 1952 by the Prime Minister of J&K, Mr. Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, BHSS Sogam was founded as a seed of progress in the Lolab Valley. Witnessed by the Hon. MLA Mr. Ghulam Nabi Wani Sogami, this institution became the first step towards universal education in the region.
Nestled in the scenic landscape of the Lolab Valley, the school has evolved from a Boys High School into a premier Higher Secondary institution (upgraded in 1975). For decades, we have remained committed to guiding the youth of Kupwara towards academic excellence and moral integrity.
Foundation
Inaugurated as High School by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
Expansion
Upgraded to Higher Secondary School to serve the growing needs of Lolab.
